Arne Mæland er skulptør og malar. Han er i hovudsak sjølvlært, men har mellom anna studert under professor Zamfir Dumitrescu, Romania, professor Rino Giannini, Pietrasanta og Boutros Romhein, Arco Arte, Carrara, Italia. Mæland har utført arbeid for private og offentlege institusjonar, kyrkjer, sjukehus og for privatpersonar og bedrifter, både innanlands og utandlands. Arne Mæland is a sculptor and a painter living in Os. He is basically self-trained, but has also been studying art under professor Zamfir Dumitrescu, Romania, professor Rino Giannini, Pietrasanta and Boutros Romhein, Arco Arte, Carrara, Italia. Mæland has received different decorative commissions for public and private institutions like churches and hospitals, as well as for private companies.
